411 R Inner Innerbarends are for performance and offer a steeper hand position than the comfort version. They allow moving the hand far inwards on the bar which positions the elbows such that they can comfortably rest against your torso. This stretches the upper body position slightly more forward. This is both an aerodynamic and bio mechanical advantage. More comfort is provided by the more relaxed neck muscles and the changed load zone of the hand.

SQlab mounts the barends inwards of the grips, so called Innerbarends. The Innerbarends fit most bikes. All Box handlebars are engineered and crafted using our Oversized Technology. Handlebars have a dual purpose as they contribute to both steering and pedaling stiffness. By strategically varying wall thicknesses and tube diameters, we have moved material from 3 low-stress areas to zones of high load. This has greatly minimized twists and contributed to responsiveness. Concurrently we have increased pedaling stiffness by providing a backstop to the “lifting” phenomenon. There is no point pushing hard on your pedals if you can’t pull up on your handlebars and deliver that power. Power can easily be lost to handlebar deflection and the consequences can lead to poor power delivery and steering control. When combined with Box’s other Oversized components, you’ll experience heightened responsiveness and reduced latency.
Key differences: This particular model handlebar is tailored for larger-sized racers and also takes our application of Oversized Technology one step further as it employs a tougher chromium molybdenum steel. This allows for a greater variation of wall thicknesses to combat the higher loads coming from that extra rider weight.

The straight hand grips are part of the flippable design that allows the grip height to be modified by 10mm. For optimal aero performance, the bar should be set in the low position to increase the separation from the armrests.
Aero
The Wing/10a employs a truncated airfoil (Kamm Tail) to stay within UCI regulations while offering the performance of a much deeper section. This, along with tidying up the underside of the wing where the cables used to exit has led to a small improvement in performance. For optimal aero performance the bar should be set in the low position to increase the separation from the armrests.
